triathlon training: week 2

I know I’m a few days late posting my weekly workouts.  It’s been a busy week, but really, I think I’ll probably switch to posting these on Mondays instead of on Fridays since that works better with my training plan.  And I figure it’ll give me a chance to fill you in on our weekend happenings (if there is any).

We had a fun filled weekend spent in Branson, Missouri – Matt’s happy place.  We spent Saturday and Sunday at Silver Dollar City and White Water (SDC’s water park).  MacKenna had a great time riding rides and splashing in the water.  It was really a great weekend to get away and just relax.  I know I’m on summer break, but my days have been filled with house work, school work, and coaching work, and that’s when I’m not taking care of and playing with MacKenna.  It was really nice to put all my worries and stress aside and just sit and enjoy the weekend.







While we definitely needed the weekend away to relax, the real reason we went down to Branson was for a race!  Matt and I (and MacKenna in the stroller) both ran the Dash to the Splash 5k, which takes place at White Water.  It was a really great race, but I’m going to save all the details until I post my race recap on Wednesday.  Let’s just say it was an AWESOME race! 😉

Rest Day


I’m starting to really enjoy triathlon training!  I’m actually enjoying the bike much more than I thought, but I’m trading that off with being frustrated with swimming.  I still have sooooo much to work on, but I’m taking it one step at a time.  I won’t get better if I don’t practice, right?!
