Happy Thanksgiving week! This is probably one of my favorite weeks during the year because: (1) I only have 2 days of work, (2) I LOVE Thanksgiving, and (3) I get to decorate my house for Christmas. I am one of those people who enjoys the holiday season, but not until the “appropriate” time. And for me, that means not putting up my decorations until after Christmas and not turning on my Christmas lights until December 1st.
But, really, I’m just excited to only have to work 2 days this week, and one of them is an early release schedule so that we can do our school-wide turkey trot that afternoon. This is my first year really taking charge of it on my own, so I’m hoping it goes smoothly. I’m ready to kick some middle school booty too – I’ve been telling kids that I’m going to beat them. Funny thing is, they don’t believe me. Ha! I’ll show them… ;P
I’ve really felt in a good place the past few weeks with running. I finally feel like “I’m back” – it’s been a long time since I’ve really felt like a runner and not an injured runner or just getting back into running. My paces have been improving, my endurance is getting better, and running in general has just felt better. I still deal with some foot and hip pain occasionally (like yesterday halfway into my long run), but for the most part, I am feeling good!
Monday: 30 minute easy run (3.78 miles @ 7:56/mile pace)
Front Squat, 55#
Tuesday: 45 minute treadmill run – stupid rain (5.52 miles @ 8:09/mile pace)
Wednesday: 20 minute easy run – in the rain (2.55 miles @ 7:52/mile pace)
Thursday: 30 minute easy run (3.78 miles @ 7:56/mile pace)
Sunday: 45-60 minute long run (6.40 miles @ 8:08/mile pace)
Total: 22.03 miles
Besides my 1-mile turkey trot on Tuesday, I don’t have any other turkey trots planned. But, I am planning on getting some good running in this week, including Thanksgiving morning. I’m also thinking about doing the Runner’s World running streak that goes from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. Anyone else thinking about streaking too?! ;P
