It’s my favorite time of the month again! Time to celebrate and get to know one of my favorite Badass Running Buddies! This month, I am not only introducing you to one of my favorite running buddies, but also one of my ATHLETES! I’ve been working with Monica since the beginning of the year now, and it has been so much fun to see her mindset and consistency progress as a runner! Not only that, but she also gave me that added challenge of being able to train her for a half marathon – while pregnant! And Monica is ROCKING her baby bump on her workouts! It has been so fun to pass on my knowledge as another badass mother runner!
Be sure to check out Monica’s running bio below! Want to become Badass Running Buddies with me and others across the globe and have the chance to be featured on The Concrete Runner?! Join the Badass Running Buddies Community and apply to be featured on the blog!
Name: Monica Briggs
Hometown: Providence, RI
Number of years running: 6 years in my adulthood…never liked running in my younger years.
Favorite Distance to Run: Half marathon! It was my first race ever! I was very ambitious…
Favorite or Most Memorable Race: Pineland: my first 50k. It was so emotional coming through the finish line. I seriously thought I would have DNF’d. I persevered, just needed to be taped up a bit.
Best Running Accomplishment: Meeting Bart Yasso! It’s the little things in life that make me feel accomplished. 😀
Advice to someone who is just starting to run: No goal is too grand! Just train smart.
