So, I’ve finally gotten to the point in my pregnancy where maternity clothes are no longer an “option” but a necessity. Before you roll your eyes and close out your browser, let me explain…
I’ve been in maternity clothes since around the 10 week mark. However, I’m lucky enough that my day job “requires” me to wear t-shirts to work. As a physical education teacher, I get the luxury of getting to wear workout clothes every single day for my job. I’ll admit it’s part of the reason why I can’t picture myself teaching anything but P.E. (Dress clothes? No thank you!) Because of this, I’ve been able to wear my stretchy pants and small t-shirts comfortably to work every day. In addition, I’ve also been fortunate enough that I can still run in those clothes as well.
That is, until about 2 weeks ago. As I was running on the treadmill at the gym, I reached down to pull down my shirt a bit, only to discover that a little bit more of my 8 months preggo belly was showing than I probably would like people to see. Um, yeah… I’m classy like that. Since then, t-shirts have just not been cutting it for me, from being too tight to bare belly showing out the bottom to just generally being uncomfortable to wear. (Good Lord, if I could just find a shirt that didn’t itch me like crazy all the freaking time. Thank goodness for maternity tank tops that are super soft and my jammies!)
Thankfully, there are workout wear options out there for pregnant gals like myself. I’ve been a For Two Fitness fan since I found out about them after my last pregnancy. I knew as soon as we got pregnant with our second, I was buying one. And guess what? The first purchase I made was buying a “Running for Two” t-shirt! And it’s probably one of the best purchases I’ve made for myself my entire pregnancy.
These shirts are meant to grow with you throughout your pregnancy. I’ve been wearing this shirt since 14 weeks, and it still fits comfortably. And it’s long enough that there is absolutely no way my belly will ever be showing out the bottom! In addition, they totally stay put when I run. I don’t have to worry about it riding up with every single step I take, which is great since I have plenty of other things I have to think about on my run (have you seen my to-do list?!). Plus, I always get comments on how cute they are every time I wear them (my students particularly think it’s an adorable shirt – even the boys – although they consistently ask me if I’m having twins)!
I bought a black “Running for Two” t-shirt first and then recently bought a long sleeve version of the same one. But, I’ve been dying to get the sapphire blue one ever since we found out we were having a boy. It’s such a beautiful color and has become one of my absolute favorite shirts to wear to work and to run in. Not only is it super cute, but it’s super soft as well. So incredibly comfortable, especially when it’s so hard to find anything comfortable lately.
But, For Two Fitness doesn’t just have awesome t-shirts. They also sell bottoms perfect for any fitness activity. These navy blue fortitude workout capris have become some of my favorite to wear while running as well. I got a medium since I usually wear medium or large pants thanks to a wide hips, but as my problem has been, they are a little loose on my legs at my knees. They fit perfectly at the top though and are just as comfortable as the shirt!
Here’s the best part… I’m giving away a $50 For Two Fitness gift card! You can enter below through the Rafflecopter giveaway. Even if you’re not pregnant right now, this would be a perfect Christmas gift for that soon-to-be mama.
